Class Description

This course covers incidents that occur in remote areas. Topics include effects of weather, navigation by compass & GPS, map reading, wilderness medicine, basic knots & ropes, ICS, survival, communications, wilderness searches, remote landing zones and will include a night-time evolution.

Prerequisite: Physical ability to work in rough terrain

Student Needs: Work gloves, leather work or hiking boots, long pants, compass, GPS if you have one, headlamp, dress accordingly for outside evolutions, spare change of clothes

Con-Ed: Applied for to obtain as many CPC hours as possible
